I watched a great documentary last night called “I.O.U.S.A.” American citizens are either unconcerned or very concerned about the United State’s national deficit. Those who are unconcerned must have reached the conclusion that the debt ratio is so high that it literally is irreversible, or they just figure that it will continue its unprecedented ascent. Can America do anything? What would happen to the financial markets worldwide? No politician will touch the issue because it is frankly too big. Any promises made cannot be met, so it is politically a dead issue.
America’s current national debt is $53,000,000,000,000 U.S. That means that every U.S. citizen is in debt $176,666.67 U.S. That is a lot of money. The American dream has been funded with debt and, with U.S. families spending habits, there is no end in sight.
Thanks for posting this federal deficit topic. I have added you to my Google reader and look forward to reading your other posts.
Everyone has been affected by the global downturn. We may not have lots of new stuff or food on the table, but things are not all bad. Recently, I have been appreciating my friends, family, and literature a lot more. Thanks for reading my posts, and I wish you the best in your endeavors.
